For those of you that aren’t in the “Mother Burmeister phone network” or you aren’t on something like Facebook, Twitter, or some other form of rapid fire internet communication, I have a bit of an announcement for you. Back at the beginning of June, Sheila and I announced to our families that we’re pregnant. Yes that is right, the adolescent adult that is me (editor insert – We have a book worth of examples here.) is going to be given the biggest challenge of his life, too not mess up someone else’s.

The due date is January 23rd, and we are both extremely happy and excited for the opportunity to have a child together. Of course there will be a number of changes that will happen in our home. But all of those changes are on the back burner right now while we just get through the first months of the pregnancy.

I can only hope that I can be as successful, supportive, and caring as my father was for me. I have some big shoes to fill when comparing the job that he did. But I have some good guide lines from him to help get me there. Thanks Dad, you’re the best, and you did one hell of a job not messing me up.
